According to figures published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, the job vacancy rate in the euro area stood at 2.4% in the first quarter of 2025. This marks a decline from 2.5% in Q4 2024 and from 2.9% in Q1 2024.
The EU-wide vacancy rate was reported at 2.2% in Q1 2025, down from 2.3% in Q4 2024 and 2.6% in the same period last year.
These decreasing rates reflect evolving labour market dynamics and potentially lower employer demand across sectors.
