€700,000 works in Sir Harry Luke Street finalised

The infrastructural project in Sir Harry Luke Street, Mġarr, has been completed following a €700,000 investment by the Public Works Department. The works formed part of a wider national effort to upgrade long-overdue residential roads and improve safety for residents and drivers.

Parliamentary Secretary Omar Farrugia visited the site and described the project as a holistic intervention designed to provide peace of mind to the community.

The works completed include new pavements, new manholes, 450 metres of new electricity and telecom services, stormwater culverts, rubble walls, new street lighting, upgraded water and drainage services, and 3,600 square metres of fresh asphalt.

Mġarr Mayor Paul Vella noted that these works were essential for road safety and for all those who use this main route connecting different parts of the locality.
