Malta sets clear goals for sustainable economic growth — PM Robert Abela Prime Minister Robert Abela addressing EY’s “Malta Future Realised 2025” conference.

Malta’s strong economy continues to inspire investor confidence, with the EY Attractiveness Survey showing a record 79% appeal — the highest in nearly a decade.

Speaking at EY’s “Malta Future Realised 2025” conference, Prime Minister Robert Abela said that the government’s next goals, aligned with Malta Vision 2050, include placing Malta among the world’s top ten in human development, increasing household income to 15% above the EU average, and ensuring one of the highest life satisfaction rates in Europe.

Dr Abela noted that while major economies faced downturns, Malta’s trajectory remained positive, supported by progressive policies rather than austerity. “Our economy is now one-third larger than before the pandemic,” he said, crediting government support for protecting jobs and businesses.

He added that Vision Malta 2050, to be launched early next year, will serve as a long-term national strategy “built by the people and for the people,” to ensure sustainable prosperity for Malta and Gozo.
